The first step is to submit a franchise application to start the vetting process. Once you’ve submitted your application and supporting documentation, a member of the Charleys franchise team will set up an introductory call with you. This conversation allows both parties to ask questions and determine if there is a good mutual fit to proceed further.
At this stage, you and Charleys will also begin working through the franchise disclosure documents and franchise agreement. If you’re approved to move forward, you’ll then need to submit the full initial Franchise Fee of $24,500. Once this fee is paid and all documentation is signed, you can now officially start your journey as a Charleys franchise owner.
Site Selection & Construction
One of the most important early steps is selecting the right location for your Charleys franchise restaurant. Our franchise team will provide guidance on identifying potential territories that meet our criteria in terms of population density, traffic patterns, visibility, parking, and more.
Charleys has a dedicated construction team that will assist you through every phase of building out your restaurant location, including:

You can expect the total construction timeline from lease signing to grand opening to take around 4-6 months. The Charleys team will be there to support you throughout this entire process.

Before opening your new Charleys franchise location, you and your key staff members will undergo comprehensive training at a Charleys store to learn the knowledge needed to operate and grow a Charleys Philly Steaks franchise. This 3-week training program covers all aspects, including:
- Operations

You’ll spend time in classroom sessions, as well as hands-on training in a working Charleys restaurant. Charleys wants to ensure you have all the knowledge and skills needed to launch your franchise with confidence.

As you get closer to your anticipated grand opening date, additional staff from the Charleys franchise team will come on-site to provide hands-on support. They’ll ensure all your employees are trained up, your systems are running smoothly, and you’re stocked and ready for customers.
