The word is out. Charleys Cheesesteak Franchise, one of the most iconic cheesesteak franchises in the country, is poised for another banner year. After signing a landmark deal with Walmart that is expected to bring nearly 100 new locations in the U.S., Charleys Philly Steaks is growing fast.
Charleys Philly Steaks has served one of America’s favorite sandwiches since 1986, and more than 30 years later, now boasts more than 630 locations in the U.S. and around the world.
Over the years, the franchise has become synonymous with using quality ingredients, including 100% USDA choice steak, offering a simple menu and having the tried and true method of incredible customer service.
Now, a new deal with Walmart has Charleys Philly Steaks ramping up for record growth.
Walmart recently announced the retail giant would host the Charleys franchise system, along with in-store dining, online ordering, curbside pickup and third-party delivery options. QSR magazine, the go-to publication for the restaurant industry, called the partnership a brand new era for Charleys Philly Steaks.
As a result, Charleys Philly Steak is projecting to open an estimated 80 new locations in just 2021 alone. Already this year, 12 stores have opened, one of which is located in a Walmart in Butler, Pennsylvania, where sales far exceeded expectations.
“Our goal is to reach 3,000 stores in the coming years,” Charley Shin, CEO and founder of Charleys Philly Steaks, said. “We’ve been growing at about 60 stores a year for the past several years, and about 70% of our growth comes from our existing franchisees reinvesting in the brand – which is extremely positive.”
