QSR Magazine Highlights Walmart Partnership with Charleys Philly Steak Franchises

National retail giant announces partnership with iconic cheesesteak franchise with plans for expansion in 2021

Columbus, OH is the new home for the latest Charleys Philly Steak location – but this time we’re teaming up with one of the biggest national brands. Walmart stores are now hosting the establishment of Charleys franchise system along with an in-store dining space and online ordering, curbside pick-up, and third-party delivery options, as well as the recently launched mobile app and rewards program.

The new partnership with Walmart was recently praised by QSR magazine in an article entitled, “Charley’s Philly Steaks Begins Walmart Expansion.” The article highlights the beginning of a bright new era for the iconic cheesesteak franchise.

“Guests will also enjoy special value-priced food bundles available only at Walmart locations,” said Brian Hipsher, Chief Marketing Officer for Charleys Philly Steaks in an article published by QSR magazine. “We are excited about this opportunity to partner with Walmart,” says Hipsher. “We’re also excited to bring smiles to our guests with an updated and whimsical environment.” 

The new Charleys Philly Steaks location in Walmart boasts a brand new design that focuses on food, family, friends, and fun with additions like arcade games, as well as a beautiful new aesthetic. The publication explains these updated designs are to encourage “fun family experiences”.

Hipsher explains that the new store design is, “all about having a little fun and taking a break from the hustle and bustle of a busy day.” 

This location launches the brand’s pilot program with Walmart, which is already planning on 10 more Charleys Philly Steaks franchise locations within a Walmart superstore in the next year. This partnership is expected to drive expansion for Charleys Philly Steaks in the years to come. Already the world’s largest cheesesteak franchise with over 630 locations open in the United States and around the world, Charleys Philly Steaks will now introduce Walmart shoppers to an authentic philly cheesesteak experience.

QSR magazine also recently named Charleys Philly Steaks one of the 10 Best Franchise Deals to invest in 2020.
